1 ST PATRICKS DAY PARADE

With the theme of this year’s parade as Volunteeri­ng it is a day not to be missed. The parade will start at 12.00pm in Sligo Town this Friday the 17th of March.

2 ST PATRICKS DAY HOT POT

After the parades join the Drumcliffe- Rosses Point GAA Club in Harrys, Rosses Points for the club’s annual Hot Pot event. Running from 2.00- 6.00pm on March 17th a delicious array of hot food will be on offer for all the family- adult meal € 10 Children’s meal € 5, family meal € 25. The club’s nominated charity for this event is the RNLI. Watch the All Ireland club hurling and football finals and be in with a chance to win great spot prizes and giveaways.

3 CANARIES

This is arguably Farrell’s funniest play, with some Irish couples travelling to the Canaries on a package holiday in a bid to escape from their surroundin­gs. Everybody arrives in the happiest of colours and the best of form, however, things soon start going wrong. Performed by the Lough Gill Players in the Glens Centre Manorhamil­ton this Wednesday the 15th of March it is a night not to be missed. 4 CULCHIES NIGHT OUT

Macra na Feirme is an organisati­on for young people between the ages of 17 and 35 who are interested in getting involved in sports, travel, drama, debating, agricultur­e or just want to meet new people and have some fun! A Fundraiser night will take place this Saturday the 18th of March at 9.30pm in Jordans Bar, Maugherow. Mighty craic guaranteed with a jiving competitio­n to finish up the night.

5 WIFE + ELLLL

Art For Blind Records presents an evening of unique Irish electronic music from three fantastica­lly diverse acts to celebrate St Patrick’s Day at the Model. WIFE + ELLLL & Dowth WIFE is the solo electronic music project of multi- instrument­alist producer and singer James Kelly. WIFE melds layers of vocal, melody, field recording and beats. The horror film of the year is coming to a cinema near you. Like nothing you’ve ever seen before ‘ Get out’ follows the story of a young interracia­l couple who visit the mysterious estate of the woman’s parents. 9 THE FENCER

Sligo Film Society and The Model Cinema screen the best in independen­t and internatio­nal film every Thursday. This Thursday the 16th of March they will play The Fencer an Estonian film. This touching tale of redemption tells the true story of champion fencer Endel Nelis, who while on the run from the Soviet police took up a teaching position in a remote Estonian school. Screening commences at 8.00pm tickets are € 8/€ 6 Conc.

10 COUNTRY MARKET

Drummartin Country Market ( 9km out the Ballina Road from Tubbercurr­y on right beside Joe Dan’s pub) is open this Saturday and every Saturday from 10.30- 12.30, the coffee shop has great value hot beverages and cakes. The market has home baked goods, free range eggs, organic dexter beef, organic lamb and organic veg by Crimlin Farm and veggies, bacon and pork products as well as hand- made crafts. New to the market: Seville marmalade, new meat products from Tower Valley Farm and they have a new bread baker, giving a great selection of breads.
