Manor take the points over Calry

-

THE weather affected a number of matches at the weekend with the Ballisodare and Carbury game called off on Sunday morning following a pitch inspection.

The remaining fixtures in the Great Southern Hotel Sligo Super league went ahead which saw St Johns host Ballymote Celtic at Cleveragh astro pitch.

Ballymote were the winners in this six goal affair with two goals from Colm Duffy and a goal each from Jack Hever and Mark Irwin securing victory for Ballymote.

On the scoresheet for St Johns were David Heffernan and Malachy Spratt.

The game between Manor Rangers V Calry Bohs was played at the IT Sligo astro pitch.

The match was scoreless at half time but Paddy Woulfe broke the deadlock midway through the second half when he netted for Manor Rangers first.

This was followed five minutes later with a goal from Seamus Ryder and it was Ryder again who sealed victory for Manor with his second and Manor Rangers’ third.

Unfortunately in the Andrew Mullen Sligo Pallets Premier League, the fixtures between Arrow Harps V Cliffoney and Carrick Town V Ballygawley Celtic fell foul to the weather as both grounds were unplayable and fixtures were postponed.

Similarly in the Cleary Landscapes Division One two fixtures didn’t go ahead.

The games between Benbulben V Chaffpool and Coolaney Utd V Dromore Villa were postponed due to pitches being unplayable.

This left the only fixture Real Tubber V Gurteen Celtic which went ahead on Sunday afternoon. Real Tubber went one up after a goal from Gerard Perry.

This lead was cancelled out by Gurteen Celtic’s Declan Hannon. However it was Real Tubber who took the three points with fifteen minutes remaining when Mark Burke Scored their winner after an entertaining encounter.
