Gillespie’s celebrating 80 years of serving the local community

John and Mary Gillespie of Gillespie’s Menswear and Sport are celebrating 80 years of business in Tubbercurry.

In the family for more than three generations they have been serving South Sligo since 1937 providing clothes, home wear, sportswear and men’s wear to the local community.

Gillespie’s has always been a family run business dating back to the early twentieth century, when Jim Gillespie purchased the business from his retiring aunt Molly Nephin in 1937.

For the next 40 years Jim’s legacy of hard work and the triumph of a good business insight established the Gillespie business as one of the leading general drapers in the North West.
