Feehilys Florist launches Mother’s Day

-

WHERE would we be without our Mother’s, they give life, nurture and are often the first people we call when we need a sympathetic ear.

Mothers Day is celebrated across 46 countries and millions of people across the globe take this day as an opportunity to honour their Mothers and thank them for their efforts in giving them life, raising them and being their constant support and well wisher.

Flowers are a wonderful way of expressing your love and gratitude to your Mother on this special occasion this Mother’s Day which is on Sunday the 26th of March. Say thank you to your dear mum with a bouquet of her favourite flowers. Mothers Day is the perfect opportunity to take time out to show appreciation for the women who everyday go above and beyond the call of duty in the interests of their children and what better way to show them is to surprise them with flowers from Feehilys Florist on Mother’s Day.

At Feehilys Florist we do beautiful floral gifts, bouquets, hand- tied, arrangements, plants, chocolates and balloons.

Martina’s craft boutique The Cat and the Moon showcases her curated selection of Irelands leading craft makers. She is also the director of the Hamilton Gallery in Sligo, which hosts monthly solo exhibitions by Irelands leading visual artists.

Martina designs are focused on delivering statement pieces, around which complementary collections are then created. She works exclusively in hallmarked sterling silver and gold. She has enjoyed many prestigious commissions, including the creation of bespoke cufflinks for President Barak Obama during the St. Patricks Day celebrations in Washington DC.

Two new collections are launched by Martina each year. Her Island Link collection is inspired by her discovery of a lost chapter in her family history and the links she has begun to forge with her ancestors who lived on the beautiful tiny Dernish Island, just off the coast of North Sligo. “I watched the tide coming in, and watched it beginning to cut Dernish off from the mainland, with looping channels of ocean water forced in around the north and south edges of the island. The encircling water inspired me to introduce an almost liquid- like finish to my new collection. “I would love this link collection to hold the possibility of “story” for the wearer; that the natural simplicity of my different links and forms will invite the wearer to create their personal narrative around the elements of the whole piece. The Sligo coastline has inspired her work for many years and she enjoys weekend beachcombing trips, finding shapes, shadows, textures and colours to weave into her award- winning jewellery.
