The Sligo Champion

Salon 2 excels at national awards

-

SALON 2 picked up a couple of prestigious awards recently at the Irish Hairdressing Championships.

The competition is widely recognised as the equivalent of the ‘ All Ireland’ for the Hairdressing Industry and the standard was extremely high this year. Junior Stylist Melissa Thompson won Trainee Ladies Cut and Colour and walked away with the prestigious ‘ Junior Team Ireland’ title managing to retain the award for the salon from colleague Cathy Wynne who won in 2016.

The Creative Wedding Team added to their vast collection of awards with the coveted 1st place in ‘ Senior Classic Bridal’ going to the talented Shirley Mulvaney once again. Fellow team member Deirdre Kennedy was placed in the top 7 Classic Bridal and 4th in ‘ Senior Long Hair Up’.

It was a proud day all round for the Salon 2 team and wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the following people – Aisling Leydon and Carol Willis for the stunning make up looks, Allure Jewellery, Grainne at Graceful Occasions and our amazing models.

“We had a fantastic day at the competitions and it never fails to inspire us all. The passion for hairdressing and artistic talent is so evident on such an occasion. There were over 200 of the best hair stylists competing at the championships and I am hugely proud of all Salon 2’ s new awards. The honour of getting placed in any of these competitions really can’t be underestimated. We’re already fired up and ready to start thinking about next years’
