Huge response to Darkness Into Light schools poster competition

-

TO mark the first year of Darkness Into Light Ballymote, the committee held a poster competition which was open to students from fourth class upwards.

The competition was also open to all secondary school students. The aim of this competition was to create an awareness of the Darkness Into Light event taking place in Ballymote on the 6th of May. The committee say they have been overwhelmed with the response to the competition and indeed with the response to the event.

“We would firstly like to thank all the teachers in all the schools who helped make this competition a huge success. Without their help it wouldn’t have been possible.

“We had a massive response and today are delighted to announce the winners, one each from primary and secondary schools.”

In the senior category the winner was Annie Mullen, a second year student in Coláiste Muire Ballymote and in the junior category the winner was Fiona Whitehead from Bunninadden National school. Both students received a prize of Penneys Vouchers.
