CONNACHT SCÓR WINS

The Glencar/ Manor GAA Club enjoyed double success at the recent Connacht Senior Scór finals in St Brigid’s Hall Tubbercurry when both their figure dance and set dance troupes claimed provincial titles.

It was a great achievement for the North Leitrim Club’s dancers when one considers that two of the seven Connacht titles on offer in Tubbercurry were won by the Glencar/ Manor representatives.

In the Connacht Scór figure dance final, the clubs competing against Glencar/ Manor were Castlebar Mitchels from Mayo and Kilglass Gaels from Roscommon. The members of the winning Glencar/ Manor troupe on Saturday were Aoife Feeney, Niamh Fox, Holly Beardmore, Bronagh Rooney, Aidan McLoughlin ( deputising for Brendan Byrne), Owen Clancy and Evan Sweeney.

Meanwhile, Glencar/ Manor’s opponents in the Connacht Scór set dance final were Elphin from Roscommon and Meelick/ Eyrecourt from Galway. The winning Glencar Manor set dance troupe members were Nicole Clancy, Amanda Sweeney, Bronagh Rooney, Clare McMorrow, Shane Connaire, Declan Byrne, Aidan McLoughlin and Michael Joe Rooney.

Glencar/ Manor will compete at the all- Ireland Senior Scór finals in the Waterfront Hall Belfast on Saturday, May 6, starting at 3 p. m.
