850 CATTLE on offer and increased grass buyer activity this week led to a very strong trade for all classes of stock on offer. Weanling Bulls in particular with strong farmer, feedlot and export activity noticed very strong prices with some exceptiona­l prices paid on the day for choice lots. Heifers, Dry Cows and Breeding stock reported excellent clearances while the suck calves also noticed improved prices this week.

Bullock Sale Monday 27th March

150 bullocks on offer with bullocks making from € 400 to € 880 with their weight and an average of € 625 over paid. Trade was also improved for all classes on offer with both numbers and grass buyers increased this week quality stores met a flying trade with and excellent clearance taking place.

Sales continue at Castlerea Mart on Monday next the 3rd April with a Bullock Sales @ 11 O’clock and Thursday next the 6th April with our usual sale of Heifers, Cows, Calves and Weanlings and Thursday evening the 6th April @ 7 PM . The Moyside/ Croghan Shorthorn Breeders Club will hold a sale of Pedigree and Non Pedigree Shorthorn Cattle
