CADRA DEVELOPMEN­TS

We have submitted a five- year plan of projects for the area to Sligo County Council, leader and Coillte. The developmen­t of the triangle was one of the projects listed and was completed this week with CADRA funding the project and Sligo County Council staff undertakin­g the work.

We have also this week written to each of our councillor­s prioritisi­ng the clearing of the existing footpath from the church to Molly Fulton’s as our project for assignment of resources from their allocation­s for 2017 and have already received very positive encouragem­ent and support from some. We look forward to each of the 10 municipal representa­tives making a contributi­on. CADRA meeting is in Carraroe Community Centre at 7.30 p. m. each Tuesday. Please come along and assist with ideas.

SPRING CLEAN

The annual Spring Clean is taking place on Saturday, April 22, commencing at 9.30 a. m. Please keep the date free to assist give our community a good spring clean. People are requested to assemble in Fr Curley Room to arrange road schedule etc. All necessary equipment will be available.

All residents are requested to keep a look out for Illegal Dumping and use the telephone number 1850365121 to report. 25 CARD GAME

The regular Tuesday night game in Community Centre commences 9 p. m.. New players always welcome- partners can be arranged. Jackpot now € 300. A good night of fun, chat and cards is guaranteed. Winners on 12 Games were Anthony McCann/ Fintan. Runners- up on 11 games were Gerry Lavin/ Stephen Fallon, All White/ Dermott Mitchell.

CPR/ AED

There are now 80 residents trained in CPR/ AED in Carraroe area. Get to know the people on your road who are trained in CPR/ AED as it might be of assistance in the future.

YOUR EIRCODE NUMBER

CADRA reminds all residents of Carraroe the EirCode number of your house will assist emergency services to find your house faster. All residents are advised to place their house EirCode number on all telephones used to summon emergency services to ensure it is available in such an emergency.

ST JOHN’S GAA CLUB

Lotto jackpot now € 10,450. The lotto can be purchased in Canning’s House and garden, Molly Fulton’s Restaurant, Crozon Inn Crozon, Blue Lagoon Riverside, McMorrow’s Shop Cairns Road, Clifford Electrical Carraroe.

PARKING AT SCHOOL

We again appeal to parents to use the dedicated walled off parking area at school to drop and collect children. Parents are also requested not to park on the existing double yellow lines as it blocks the second exit lane out of the dedicated parking area at the school. CADRA is advised Sligo County Council will this week be placing double yellow lines on the roundabout area which is causing concern with parents dropping/ collecting children on the main road. We are advised An Garda Síochána will be monitoring the area to ensure compliance with the law.

LAKEVIEW ICA.

The next meeting of Lakeview Guild which will be our AGM will be held in Carraroe Community Centre tonight at 8 p. m. Members are reminded their membership fees are due on the night. Our annual walk will be held on Saturday, May 28, commencing at the Embassy JFK Parade Sligo. The chosen charity is the Cancer Support Centre Wine St, Sligo.

EASTER CAMP

Easter Camp with lots of fun activities at Anne Carton’s Crèche, the Hawthorns, Carraroe. Week one Monday, April 10 – Thursday, April 13. Week two Tuesday, April 18 – Friday, April 21. From 10 a. m. to 3 p. m. each day. Cost per week € 80. To book a place ring Anne at 071 9161745.

PARKING AT THE CHURCH

People are requested not to park on the public road as it is dangerous and obstructs the view of people exiting the car parks thereby creating a serious hazard for other drivers. There is plenty of space around the Community Centre and the new parking area at the weighbridg­e.
