CONFIRMATION

The sacrament of Confirmation was celebrated in Geevagh Church on Friday of last week, when Bishop Doran confirmed 18 children from Kilmactranny and Geevagh National Schools. He complimented them on how well they’d done, and thanked their families and their teachers for all their work and preparation. Through the schools, the children had prepared the readings and hymns as well as beautiful collages, and the choir performed live from the altar.

The ceremony was a very uplifting experience with the choice of music and song contributing to a wonderful event. It was a beautiful, sunny, spring day and the church was full with family and friends of the confirmandi. Afterwards, Bishop Doran joined them on the lawn for a photographic record of this important day in the children’s faith life. Best wishes are extended to all those who were confirmed and you are asked to continue to pray for them.
