OWENMORE GAELS

The Senior Men came up short against Coolera/ Strandhill in a sun drenched Connolly Park on Saturday evening, March 25, last. Two quick- fire second half goals from the visitors propelled them to a five point victory. An entertaini­ng game which could have gone either way, but a big improvemen­t on last week’s outing. Again a number of youngsters involved today who showed well. A decent run- out in preparatio­n for when the real business starts in two weeks time against Geevagh in Division 2.

Congratula­tions to Brian Mahon and the Sligo under- 21 team who advanced to the Connacht final after defeating Roscommon in Kiltoom recently. Best of luck in the final.

The minor boys began their league campaign on Monday, March 27, away to Easkey/ Enniscrone- Kilglass in Enniscrone, Check the club Facebook page for more details.

The club is running a six- week nursery for children aged between 4 and six years old ( born in 2011/ 2012). It continues each Thursday from six to seven in the Teeling Centre. Fun programme and an introducti­on to GAA with fundementa­l movement and basic skill developmen­t. If parents would be interested in getting involved please contact Jason at 086 1034731.

The lotto draw took place in the Owenmore Inn on Monday, March 6. The numbers drawn were 12, 13, 23 and 31. There was no winner of the € 6,000 jackpot. Congratula­tions to our matchthree winners Kathleen Kane and Ultan Doherty, who each win € 50. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets and continues to support the club.

LOTTO RESULTS

Collooney Village Re- developmen­t Ltd lotto results for March 29, were as follows: The numbers drawn were 2, 22, 23 and 25. There was no winner of the jackpot prize on the night however, congratula­tions go to the Walshs, who won € 100 and well done. The next draw for jackpot prize of € 10,000 will take place on April 12 in Collooney Pharmacy. Entry envelopes are available in local businesses around the town and good luck to all who enter.

CHEERLEADI­NG SUCCESS

Congratula­tions to members of Cheerleadi­ng team, Silverstar­s, who brought home the silverware following a spectacula­r event in the Antrim Forum, Belfast on Saturday, March 25, last. Competing in the UK Cheerleadi­ng Associatio­n event, competitor­s did their club and County proud with their displays of stunts and dance throughout the day. Well done to all involved.

BINGO

Collooney Bingo takes place every Thursday night in the Parish Hall, Collooney at 9 p. m. Over € 1,500 can be won on the night. As the jackpot wasn’t won this week, next week’s prize will be € 3,800.

Everyone is welcome to come along but remember, do come early as a large crowd is expected. All proceeds go towards Collooney Handball Club.
