SYMPATHY

Prayers and sympathy for the happy repose of the souls of Pat Walsh, Drimbane, whose funeral Mass was celebrated in Curry Church on Monday last; Mae McGuinn, Botuney ( first cousin Kathleen Brennan and Annie Mae Burke, Curry); and Jack McGovern, Creggs, Co. Galway ( uncle of Breege Colleran, Broher). RIP

LATE RITA BRENNAN

The death occurred of Rita Brennan, née Brett, at her residence in Curry Village. She was predecease­d by her husband Jack, son Seán and Máire. Sincere sympathy is extended to her daughters Margaret, Joan, Anne, Helen, Teresa, and Sarah, sons Bernard and Pádraig, sister Veronica, grandchild­ren, nephews, nieces, cousins and large circle of relations and friends.

Removal took place to the Church of the Immaculate Conception Curry. Requiem Mass was concelebra­ted by Fr Leo Henry PP Curry. Canon Michel Joyce, Swinford and Rev Fr Peter Gallagher P. P. Mullinabre­eana. Burial of remains took place in Rhue Cemetery.

COFFEE MORNING THANKS

A very successful coffee morning was organised in the arts and Heritage Centre after Mass last Sunday by the Donahue family Ballincurr­y. Proceeds were donated to Our Lady’s Hospital for sick children Crumlin.

PARISH RESEARCH

volunteers are presently carrying out research of families who lived in the parish of Curry dating back to the late 1800s.

Regular meetings are being held, with notificati­on in the parish bulletin for anyone interested in surveying townlands, Good progress has been reported to date.

5K FAMILY FUN WALK/ RUN

Moylough NS Parents’ associatio­n are holding a 5k Family Fun Walk/ Run on Sunday, April 9, starting from Moylough Heritage Centre. Registrati­on from 12.30 p. m., Walk/ Run starting at 1 p. m. Adults € 10, Family € 15. Refreshmen­ts will be served in the Heritage Centre afterwards.
