Foul play ruled out after elderly man found dead in his home
FOUL play has been ruled out by Gardaí following the death of an elderly man at his home in Calry.
The man, in his 80’ s and who lived alone, was found dead on Friday last. Gardaí believe he may have been dead for a number of days.
Gardaí initally had concerns and the State Pathologist was asked to carry out a post mortem examination.
It is understood there was some indication that lead to Gardaí fearing that there might have been intruders at the man’s home.
However, following the conducting of a post mortem examination at Sligo University Hospital over the week- end, Gardaí are now satisfied there was no foul play in the man’s death.
The post mortem was carried out by Dr Michael Curtis.
He concluded that the man died from natural causes.
