CLASP bus route would ‘ connect communities’

-

A new proposed bus route from Ballymote and Gurteen to Sligo town would be hugely beneficial to South Sligo.

That’s according to Councillor Dara Mulvey.

CLASP ( Community of Lough Arrow Social Project) are currently working to try acquire funding from new bus routes from South Sligo to Sligo town, five days a week.

Councillor Dara Mulvey has encouraged members of the community to consider using the route.

“This is a great initiative, supporting South Sligo and Sligo town for very good value,” he told The Sligo Champion.

“I must compliment CLASP on this and I would advise people to support it as much as possible.

“The main thing is, it’s an early morning pick up starting in Gurteen and South Sligo for people who may not have their own mode of transport.

“They depart again in the evenings with two pick- up stops, at the IT and then in the town so those are two central pick up points.”

The service would cost just € 7 a day and € 25 a week: “People have been contacting me about rural transport so this will be connecting communities in the area. I would definitely welcome this initiative and I encourage people to consider using it. It’s just € 7 return for the service so it’s great value again.
