PARISH CLEAN- UP

The parish clean- up and litter pick has started on some roads around the parish. Just contact Johnny Ruttledge, Denise Brennan, Gerry Connolly, John O’Dowd or Anne Marie Gorman if you need bags, gloves etc.

Once your litter pick is complete, contact one of the organisers and we will arrange collection of bags over Easter weekend and please do not leave bags along the road.

The next step will be planting flowers around the parish to brighten things up ( village, churches, schools, graveyards etc). We will need your help at this too. The next meeting is in the parochial house on Tuesday, April 11, at 9 p. m.

TRACTOR RUN

The Coolaney Tractor, Honda and vintage car run will be held in aid of Downs Syndrome Sligo on Sunday, May 7, at 2 p. m. Registrati­on from 1 p. m. Entry € 20. Refreshmen­ts afterwards in the Mountain Inn. Contact Joanne O’Grady 086 0725261 for more info.

25 CARD GAME

The local 25 card game continues every Friday in St Nathy’s Hall at 9 p. m.

DANCING

Set dancing is on every Thursday at 8.30 p. m. and social dancing every Monday at 8 p. m. for beginners and 9 p. m. for all others.

1916 COMMEMORAT­ION

To commemorat­e the 1916 Rising there will be music, song and dance at Easkey Peace Park at midday on Easter Monday in associatio­n with Creative Ireland. This will be followed by refreshmen­ts in the Community Centre.

PARENT/ TODDLER GROUP

Templeboy Parent/ Toddler group meet on Fridays from 10 a. m. to midday in the Old School House. Cost is € 2 per family. Tea and coffee available.

DAWN MASS

The annual Easter Sunday Dawn Mass will take place at 6 a. m. with lighting of the Paschal Fire at 5.55 a. m. in the Olde Abbey Cemetry Easkey village. Everyone welcome.

SOCCER CLUB AGM

Enniscrone- Kilglass United soccer club will hold their annual general meeting on Friday, April 21, at 8 p. m. in the club house at Michael McGowan Park. A full attendance is required.

GIRL GUIDES QUIZ

Tireragh Girl Guides are holding their annual table quiz on April 14, Good Friday. Starting at 8.45 p. m. in Skreen- Dromard Community Centre. Table of four costs € 20. Please come along and support.

VARIETY CONCERT

Easkey Dramatic Society presents a Variety Concert by Ceoltoiri Tireragh and one- act play ‘ The End of the Beginning’ in Easkey Community Centre on Saturday, April 22, at 8.30 p. m.

St Farnan’s GAA Club will hold a Fun Tractor Run on Sunday, April 23, at 2 p. m. The run will start at the Old School, Templeboy. All ages, makes and models of tractor is welcome. Entry fee is € 10 per tractor. Registrati­on begins at 1 p. m.

INTERMEDIA­TE – Last Saturdays scheduled Abbott Cup fixture against Tourlestra­ne was postponed due to a bereavemen­t in the Tourlestra­ne parish, and will be re- fixed to a later date. This Saturday evening at 6.30 p. m. our lads begin their league campaign at home to Ballymote. Best of luck to everyone involved please support.

MINOR - the Enniscrone- Kilglass/ Easkey minor team had a disappoint­ing start to their league campaign when they went down to Owenmore Gaels by three points, 2- 12 to 2- 9 at Quigabar last Monday evening. They will hope to regroup this week ahead of their next fixture against Tubbercurr­y/ Cloonacool on Thursday week.

JUVENILE – Our under- 16 boys play Tourlestra­ne tomorrow evening ( April 3) at 6.30 p. m. in Quigabar. Our under- 14s play Calry/ St Joseph’s next Friday evening at 6.30 p. m. in Hazelwood in round two of the league. Our under- 12 boys showed very well in a west Sligo under- 12 blitz held in our indoor astro- turf last Saturday morning. They begin their league campaign at home this Tuesday evening at 6.30 p. m. against St Patrick’s. Best of luck to everyone for the coming year.
