Vacant Aurivo building could be developed as food production facility

-

Work is ongoing to see if the vacant Aurivo building at Achonry could be developed into a food hub or food production facility. A brochure launched by John Reilly Head of Enterprise, LEO Office Sligo County Council, details the plant’s potential.

“A significant element of the Aurivo premises at Achonry is vacant and I want to compliment John Reilly and the LEO office whom with Aurivo and other players are engaged with a number of food industry people to explore the potential of a business working from this facility which would be a great addition to the south Sligo region,” said Councillor Dara Mulvey, Chairman of South and West Sligo Municipal District.

“While still at an early stage, brochures have been distributed on this great asset to possible clients.

“This premises has a lot going for it such as broadband, ample parking, affordable flexible terms, and I would encourage any interested business to contact John Reilly at the Local Enterprise office 07191- 14405 for more details,” added Councillor Mulvey.

The plant consists of two buildings. Building 1 is the first you see on the right when entering the Achonry yard. It consists of 967 square metres of the site and it is the building that contains the most prep, manufacturing and processing rooms to suit the needs of any food business.

BUilding 2 is the largest of all the buildings on site; it’s the first building on the left when entering the sites yard. This building covers an area of 1,585 square metres; it contains the largest process, storage and box storage rooms within the Achonry site. A process room with 302.5 square metres, a box store room that covers 381.5 metres squared and a chill store room that consumes 222.65 metres squared, are all located in Building 2.
