CORRAN PLAYERS

The Corran Players Drama Group are back by popular demand with their hilarious play ‘ A Wake in the West’. After their successful three night run in Ballymote, the Corran Players are back for two more nights on Thursday night, April 20, in the Art Deco Theatre, Ballymote at 8.30 p. m. and on Friday night, April 21, in the Parish Hall, Ballinfad at 8.30 p. m. Admission € 12, OAPs and Students € 10. Don’t miss this hilarious production which will have you laughing for hours.

COMMUNITY LIBRARY

We are looking forward to Wednesday, April 19, for another afternoon of storytelli­ng with Lou and Claire at 3 p. m.

On Thursday the 20th at 7 p. m. we will host a really unique Author Visit – Anne Enright interviews Claire Kilroy in a continuati­on of the Reader’s Voice series. The book being discussed is the Devil I know and we can place holds on it if you drop us a line or you can do it online via the Sligo library website. On Friday the 21st we have an arts and crafts event at 3 p. m., but it is waiting list only at this point – we do get cancellati­ons though, so it is worth a shot if your little ones love working with clay.

Keep an eye out for the Easter Egg window display if you’re in town or passing by too, it is rather eggselent if we do say so ourselves. Huge thanks to the wonderful pupils of Scoil Mhuire gan Smal for their super bright and cheerful work. All events are free and open to all, invite a friend.

DARKNESS INTO LIGHT

This is the Pieta House signa- ture Awareness and fundraisin­g event. The event will begin in darkness at 4.15 a. m. on Saturday morning, May 6, and end as the sun begins to rise. Supported by Electric Ireland, this event will take place in over 110 locations in Ireland and across the world.

The Darkness Into Light regional launch was held last week in Daly’s public house in Boyle. A very enjoyable evening was held by all with talks given by representa­tives of Pieta House and the Boyle Darkness into Light Committee.
