OUR under 16 girls got back to winning ways with a 3- 13 to 0- 05 victory over St. Michael’s last Tuesday. The under 16s now have a break for two weeks and will play again on April 25th with a trip to Curry. THE Under 16 boys’ match against Geevagh/ St Michael’s on Monday 10th ended in a draw on a scoreline of Coolera- Strandhill 3- 12, Geevagh/ St Michael’s 5- 06. The next match is away to Tubbercurry/ Cloonacool on Monday the 24th April. OUR minor side played the second round of the league away to St Pats on Thursday winning on a score line of 5- 6 to 1- 7. Missing quite a number of players the lads put in a strong first half performance in front of goal and backed it up with an extremely well disciplined and hard working second half showing in defence. THE Junior Ladies began their League campaign with a home tie against C. T. Gaels. Once again, we were forced to field a very young team with six under 16 girls involved. The match also saw the return to the playing field of Catherine Porter and Pamela Higgins. Although the girls suffered defeat, there were many positives to be taken. THE under 12 girls made it two wins out of two with a 12- 03 win over St. Mary’s last Friday. They started quickly and by the end of the first quarter had run up a 7- 1 lead, thanks to scores from Ellen Walsh, Eva White, Orna Murphy and Alana Wilson. St. Mary’s battled their way back into the match and our girls didn’t score again until the final quarter. There were impressive displays from Anna McDaniel, Mary Kate McPartland and Lisa Kilfeather in defence, while Alana Wilson, Orlaith Beirne, Ellen Walsh and Susannah Gilligan starred in attack. Next up is a home match vs Calry/ St. Joseph’s on Friday. Senior League OUR senior footballers made it two wins out of two in the league with a comprehensive victory over St. Michael’s on a scoreline of 2- 14 to 0- 06.
