Murder accused on assault charges

A 34- year- old man charged with murder has had assault charges against him adjourned at Sligo District Court. Oisín Conroy of St Joseph’s Terrace, Boyle is charged with murdering Easkey native Natalie McGuinness ( 23) at 4 The Mews, Mail Coach Road, Sligo on October 28 2015. Charges of assaulting three men at Sligo University Hospital on October 29th were adjourned at Sligo District Court last Thursday. Mr Gerard McGovern, solicitor ( defending), said the defendant was on remand in the Central Mental Hospital in Dublin and had a trial date for November.

Judge Cormac Dunne said he would adjourn the assault charges until after this date and put the matters in for February 15th 2018.
