Bragging rights go to Tubbercurr­y

TUBBERCURR­Y came away with the bragging rights in this south Sligo encounter, winning by six points.

They opened the game at a blistering pace.

After 10 minutes, they led by 1- 04 to no score.

The first point of the game was from play and was scored by Darragh Kilcoyne.

This was followed by a goal from Cian Gilmartin, then a punched point by Stephen Gilmartin and a point by Mark Burke after a great run from defence.

Curry finally got on the score board in the 13th minute with a point from play by Adrian Marren, the same player scored again a minute later from play.

Curry were then punished more when Tubbercurr­y were awarded a penalty for a foul on Brian Curran.

This was scored by Stephen Kilcoyne.

Curry responded with a goal of their own which was finished by Denis Coffey.

Tubbercurr­y added three further unanswered points all scored by Darragh Kilcoyne.

Curry finished the half strongly and scored four points, three by Adrian Marren and one by Kenny Morley, that left the half time score Tubbercurr­y 2- 7 Curry 1- 8.

The second half began very well for Curry and they went ahead for the first and only time after a great goal by Aaron Kearins.

Tubbercurr­y responded with two frees scored by sharp- shooter Darragh Kilcoyne.

Stephen Kilcoyne also contribute­d two points.

Adrian Marren then responded with two pointed frees.

Brian Curran also got onto the scoreboard when he punched a point over.

Cian Gilmartin contribute­d the next two scores for Tubbercurr­y - a well worked goal and a point from play. This put Tubbercurr­y in the driving seat and Darragh Kilcoyne scored a further three unanswered points from frees. Stephen Kilcoyne contribute­d a point also.

Adrian Marren kicked five points - three frees and two from play to keep Curry ticking along.
