UNDER the shade of the caves of Keash, Eastern Harps and Tourlestrane took to the field in the fourth round of the Division 1 league on Sunday. In a very close first half, which saw each team take their scores well with the visitors getting three points early on which followed the home team scoring three points, two from frees. Immediately after, it looked as if the game was going to be extremely close. The next 15 minutes saw Eastern Harps go ahead at six points to four then Liam Gaughan scored two well taken frees to leave the sides level again. Then just before the half time whistle Conan Marren making his debut on the senior squad for Tourlestrane, scored another to leave the score mid way at seven points to six in Tourlestrane’s favour. The second half got underway and Gaughan scored first again from a nifty pass in from Rian Kennedy. But from their kick out, Eastern Harps upped the scoring with a well taken goal to take the lead. But two minutes later, Tourlestrane pointed again after Eastern Harps were shown a black card for a pull down in the forwards. The next five minutes saw each of the teams respond to each other’s points, when Patrick Harte for Tourlestrane saw his chance to hit the net with a super pass in from Gaughan to see the gap start to widen again, and continue to do so with three more points for the Tourlestrane men. Not giving up Eastern Harps took a couple more points but the game finished Tourlestrane 1- 17, Eastern Harps 1- 11.
