There’s no doubt whatsoever that Fáilte Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way initiative has benefited tourism in Sligo. Sligo and North Mayo have been re- branded as ‘ The Surf Coast’ with one ‘ Signature Discovery Point’ at Mullaghmore and six ‘ Discovery Points’ at Streedagh, Rosses Point, Strandhill, Aughris Head, Easkey and Enniscrone piers.

Accomodation providers along the coast have given anecdotal evidence of a rise in bookings.
