BLOOD DONATION CLINIC

CLOONACOOL TABLE QUIZ

A table quiz in aid of Cloonacool Church Renovation Fund will be held in Brennan’s Lounge Cloonacool on Friday night, May 12, with four per table.

All townlands are asked to provide a team on the night and your support would be very much appreciate­d.

A clothes collection will be held on Saturday, May 27, next with all proceeds going to Cloonacool Church Renovation fund. All support for this fundraisin­g drive will be accepted with grateful thanksAll-Ireland Drama

The all- Ireland Drama Festival continues nightly in St Brigid’s Hall Theatre at 8 p. m. except closing night April 29 with curtains up at 7 p. m.

ACTIVE RETIRED

Tubbercurr­y ARA will resume meetings after the Easter break with a celebratio­n of Bealtaine ( Mayday) on May 2 at 8 p. m. in the Health Centre. Well- known actress Beezie will present a one- woman show ,’ Beezie’, a sparkling portrayal of the life of Beezie Gallagher, for over 60 years the sole resident of an island on Lough Gill. Refreshmen­ts will be served and all are welcome to what promises to be a very enjoyable evening.

The bus tour of Northern Ireland at the end of May is completely booked. On May 9 there will an ‘ Alzheimenr’s Tea Night’ and among the activities for June will be a day tour to Strokestow­n House.

SOUTH SLIGO SNAPS

A photograph­ic Exhibition on ‘ Youth in our Community’ hosted by Foróige Youth Club, Tubbercurr­y, and facilitate­d by Community Artist, Monica Grossman takes place in Tubbercurr­y Library, Humbert Street, and Tubbercurr­y from April 22, at midday Open to the public, this exhibition will run indefinite­ly.

CANCER SUPPORT CENTRE

There is a facilitate­d Cancer Support Group on the First Wednesday of every month from 8.10 p. m. at 53 Ard Aisling, Tubbercurr­y, and a facilitate­d Bereavemen­t Support Group ( for anyone who has lost an immediate family member to cancer) on the last Tuesday of every month 8.10 p. m. in the centre.

The centre relies totally on the generosity of everyone who continues to organise fundraisin­g events and those who give donations. We are eternally grateful and never cease to be amazed at how this selfless generosity continues throughout these difficult trying times. This Centre is not about cancer, it is about Recovery.

Trish- Fit Classes provide a low- impact work- out with modificati­ons to suit everyone. This is a great way to get in a heart- pumping work- out tapping into your fat burning zone while reducing the risk of injury.

It’s ideal for people who want to get fit, are recovering from an injury, post pregnancy etc. and suits young and old.

Classes are weekly in the Weightloss and Wellness Centre, Tubbercurr­y on Wednesdays from 7 p. m. to 8 p. m. and a new class on Mondays in St Brigid’s Hall from May 1 from 7 p. m. to 8 p. m. Contact Trish at 087 7713031 for further details.
