Sligo Folk Park holds their annual Riverstown Vintage Festival in June. The seven acre tourist attraction features several Museums displaying heritage and culture artefacts of Irish History. They are open all year round with their annual vintage festival happening on the June Bank Holiday weekend 3- 5 June.

LIVE ON AIR MUSIC FESTIVAL

The inaugural Sligo ‘ Live on Air’ will take place from the 26- 27 May at the Quirky Glamping Village in Enniscrone celebratin­g Ireland’s freshest Indie, Folk and jazz groups along the beautiful seaside setting. Acts include the Hothouse Flowers, Rackhouse Pilfer, Moxie, Hermitage Green and Ryan O’Shaughness­y.

Taking place 27- 30th July this year with free live music, entertainm­ent and events happening on the 5km stretch of beach. There will be a carnival, fireworks, street theatre, dance events, comedy and competitio­ns - the summer fun never ends.

SOUTH SLIGO SUMMER SCHOOL

First establishe­d in Tubbercurr­y in 1987 it promotes traditiona­l song, music and dance. Takes place from 9- 15 of July this year. Always worth a visit.

COOLANEY SUMMER FESTIVAL

Lectures and outings each day of the weekend in Ballymote from the 4- 7 August along with the publicatio­n of the 50th edition of the Corran Herald.

The annual Coolaney Summer Festival takes place this on July 1st. Fun activities for all the family as well as live local music across many village venues.

SLIGO LIVE

Taking place on the 7th of August there will be 17 events, 600 showing class horse, ponies, cattle, and many more animals as well as bonny baby, sheepdog trials and many show dances in Grove Hall.

Now in its 14th year the Annual Sligo Live festival is back this October 25- 30th. Since 2005 the festival has highlighte­d Sligo’s vibrant contempora­ry music scene and rich musical heritage intermingl­ed with internatio­nal stars gaining itself a well deserved internatio­nal reputation.

The Western Drama Festival is currently running its annual Three Act drama festival for amateur groups ( Finals this Saturday 29th April) and a One Act festival in November. Booking for the Finals is being handled by the Hawks Well Theatre. Phone the Hawks Well at 071 9161518.

YEATS SUMMER SCHOOL
