Further concerns on Manorhamilton mart

-

THE deficit in the client account at Manorhamilton mart continues to grow, Sligo District Court was told. It now stood at € 87,000 having gone up from € 56,000 and the regulator was concerned at the situation, Judge Kevin Kilrane was informed. Manorhamilton Livestock Sales Ltd doesn’t have a licence and the regulatory body, Property Services Regulatory Authority has been liaising with it on a daily basis since the matter first came before the court including a financial controller who had been appointed and an accountant in Cavan, Mr Gerard McGovern, solicitor for the mart stated. However, the regulator wanted the matter aired again sooner that the original adjourned date in June. Mr McGovern said in an ideal world cattle “bought today would be paid for today” but “it just doesn’t happen like that. Normally they wouldn’t be paid for a week,” he said.

Judge Kilrane left the June date in place but if there was an urgent concern he would fix May 11th next upon application.
