Doing it for Feis Ceoil

Mary Mc Hale – Feis Ceoil Sligo

Mary Mc Hale has dedicated more than 25 years of her life to volunteering with the Feis Ceoil Sligo.

But for Mary it doesn’t feel like work, along- side her full time job she dedicates herself to the running of the Feis each year.

“My own daughters were doing Irish dancing and I got involved that way.

“I feel like they were providing a platform for my kids and now I am giving back.

“When you see the results from the work you’ve done it keeps you motivated.

“It is an absolutely great way to meet people and network and I would recommend volunteering to anyone,” said Mary. She is very proud of the success of the Feis Ceoil and the enjoyment that the children get out of taking part makes it all worth while.
