Jobseekers get a headstart
There are quite literally thousands of ways to get involved in volunteering through local communities, arts organisations, charities or global justice causes.
As part of Sligo’s designation as the European Volunteering Capital in 2017, Sligo Volunteer Centre are delivering a one- day volunteering expo titled ‘ Headstart’ as part of National Volunteering Week on May 16th.
Aimed at giving job- seekers a head- start by gaining valuable volunteering experience, this one- day conference includes inspirational guest speakers sharing stories from their own personal volunteervo effortsef which contributedtr to theirth own careers,ca practicalpr workshops fromr recruitmentcr agenciesag on CV b building and interviews, as well as opportunities to connect with over ten local volunteer organisations present on the day recruiting for new volunteer members.
The event, which is completely free, takes place from 10am – 4pm, with events repeated in the morning and afternoon.

Headstart Volunteering Expo takes place in The Glasshouse Hotel on Thursday May 16th as part of National Volunteering Week and is funded by Ulster Bank’s Skills and Opportunity Fund,
