Tubbercurry ARA will resume meetings after the Easter break with a celebration of Bealtaine ( Mayday) on May 2 at 8 p. m. in the Health Centre. Well- known actress Beezie will present a one- woman show ,’ Beezie’, a sparkling portrayal of the life of Beezie Gallagher, for over 60 years the sole resident of an island on Lough Gill. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome to what promises to be a very enjoyable evening.
The bus tour of Northern Ireland at the end of May is completely booked. On May 9 there will an ‘ Alzheimenr’s Tea Night’ and among the activities for June will be a day tour to Strokestown House.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Covering various different topics, a Personal Development training course is set to take place at the Enterprise Centre, Tubbercurry on Monday the eighth, Tuesday and Monday, May 9 and 15, from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. 25TH ANNIVERSARY
Twenty five years ago, on May 3, 1992, Banada Abbey Secondary School Senior Football Team won the all- Ireland Colleges ‘ B’ Title when they defeated Edenderry ( Offaly) in a replay match in Hyde Park Roscommon.
A function is being organised
A table quiz in aid of Cloonacool Church Renovation Fund will be held in Brennan’s Lounge Cloonacool on Friday night, May 12, with four per table. All townlands are asked to provide a team on the night and your support would be very much appreciated.
A clothes collection will be held on Saturday, May 27, next with all proceeds going to Cloonacool Church Renovation fund. All support for this fundraising drive will be accepted with grateful thanks.
