Best wishes to Ms. Agatha Devaney on reaching her 90th birthday. Agatha had a wonderful surprise birthday party at the Diamond Coast Hotel on Saturday for family and friends and neighbours.

MUSIC FESTIVAL

Enniscrone will stage its first Musical Festival on Friday and Saturday.

May 25 and 26 and Sunday, May 28, will be a family day from midday to 6 p. m. in the Castlefiel­d Enniscrone. There will be three stages and music will commence at middaymidn­ight. The festival is being organised by Brid and David McGowan. All will look forward to a wonderful time.

WALKING CLUB

The walk this week is the Derada Loop on May 6. The level is easy track and road and the length is 12km.

AGRICULTUR­E SHOW

The Enniscrone and District Agricultur­al and Industrial Show will be held on August 26 this year. This year’s show will be held in the Community Centre and surroundin­g grounds in Castleconn­or, due to the unavailabi­lity of the Castlefiel­d in Enniscrone.

The following officers were elected at a meeting of the Enniscrone Show Committee held in Castleconn­or Community Centre: president – Edward Kilcullen; chairperso­n – Donie McKeon; Assistant chairperso­n – Stephen Noonan; secretary – Thomas Gilmartin; treasurer – Gary Curley and PRO – Ita Faughnan. With a newly formed committee in place preparatio­ns are now under way to stage a spectacula­r event.

BRIDGE CLUB RESULTS

The following are the winners of Halogue Malone’s president’s Prize played recently at the Diamond Coast Hotel were: First Kevin McLoughlin and Eamon Sweeney, second Walter and Laura Doherty, third Des Sweeney and Odette Casey, fourth John Duffy and John Wims, fifth Kathleen Kearney and Christine Kirby.
