‘ Broke out’ after his daughter’s wedding
A 59- year- old man who ‘ broke out’ on the drink after the wedding of his daughter was given the benefit of the Probation Act at Sligo District Court.
Summoned for being intoxicated on April 5th last was Bernard Ward of Ballydrehid, Ballisodare.
Inspector Donal Sweeney said the defendant had been very intoxicated.
Mr Tom MacSharry, solicitor ( defending) said the defendant’s daughter was married recently and he “broke out after the wedding.” “He looks great today and is back sober,” said Mr MacSharry. Judge Kevin Kilrane applied the Probation Act.
At the same court, Michael Sweeney, Old Bundoran Road was fined € 100 for being intoxicated on April 8th last.
