Friday’s 18 hole open stableford was played in beautiful sunny conditions but with winds gusting, making scoring challengin­g. Ciaran Henry took first place with a score of 37 points.

Ciaran scored a total of fourteen pars over the course of his eighteen holes with seven on each nine as well as adding a birdie on the par four third hole to complete his round with a score of 37 points to secure first place.

Second place was taken by Mark Eaton, also with a score of 37 points. Mark scored a total of eight pars over the course of his eighteen holes with seven on the front nine and the remaining par on the back nine as well as adding a birdie on the par five fifth hole to complete his round with 37 points for second place.

Third place was taken Sean McGowan with a score of 33 points. Sean scored two pars over the course of his round with one on each nine as well as adding a birdie on the par four thirteenth hole to ensure he signed for a score of 33 points for third place.

Jackie Coyle posted the best round on the day with a score of 38pts. Jackie scored a total of three pars over the course of his round with one on the front nine and the remaining two on the back nine as well as adding a birdie on the par three second hole to ensure victory with a score of 38 points.

Second place was taken by Liam Kavanagh with a score of 37 points. Liam scored a total of nine pars over his round with two on the front nine and the remaining seven on the back nine to take second place with a score of 37 points.

Third place was taken by John O’Donnell, also with a score of 37 points. John scored a total of seven pars over his eighteen holes with three on the front nine and the remaining four on the back nine as well as adding a birdie on the par three fourteenth hole to take third place with 37 points.

First place was taken by Greg Mahon with a score of 41 points. Greg scored a total of ten pars over the course of his round with five on the front nine and the remaining five on the back nine as well as adding a birdie on the par four third hole to complete a round with 41 points for first place.

Second place was taken by Robert Kelly with a score of 40 points. Rob scored a total of twelve pars over the course of his eighteen holes with six on each nine as well as adding birdies on the par four tenth and thirteenth holes to secure second place with a score of 40 points.

Third place was taken by Tristan Probst, also with a score of 40 points.

Tristan scored a total of fourteen pars over the course of his round with eight on the front nine and the remaining six on the back nine as well as adding birdies on the par five first and par three seventeent­h to ensure he signed for a score of 40 points and third place.

Well done to our Minor Cup team who beat Ballina in the first round of the competitio­n on Thursday last. They now go forward to play the next round in Donegal.
