“We had a fantastic closing ceremony and the team work that was put in by everyone was magnificent.
“I think we have done the founding fathers of the drama festival proud. We had a feast of drama every night and we packed out St Brigids Hall,” she said.
The buzz around the town was hard to beat and business in the town was booming as theatre and drama lovers embraced all that South Sligo had to offer.
With the top nine groups in the country qualifying there was a high standard of performances every night from comedies, romances, tragic stories and some classic Irish plays.
The festival was a great success for all involved and a great achievement for the community working in harmony together to support and successfully host a highly prestigious All Ireland Drama event.
Eileen added that The Western Drama Festival would like to congratulate the nine groups who performed at the All Ireland ( Confined) Finals 2017 and thank all of the generous sponsors, patrons and of course the many visitors who supported the South Sligo festival.
