The death took place recently of Nell Finnerty of Sea View, Ballymohany, Enniscrone. Sympathy is extended to her daughters Mary, Corballa; Penelope Morrison, Ballina; Noreen Quinn, Ballymooneen; Anne Gallagher, Moygownagh; Helen Kelly, Ballina and USA; sons James; Pat, Ballina; Joe, Dublin; Laurence, Cloonamahon and Brendan. Sympathy also to her brothers Jim, John and Michael, sister Mary Rooney, daughters- in- law Susan, Sarah, and Brenda’s girlfriend Olive, son’s in- law Seán, Oisin, Eamon, Liam her grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace. Burial took place in St Patrick’s cemetery, Kilglass Wednesday, after midday requiem Mass in St Joseph’s Church Castleconnor.

A fundraising ceili and social dance night in memory of Michael Tolan, Bonniconlon, will take place in the Diamond Coast hotel Enniscrone on Friday, May 19, commencing 10 p. m. CEMETERY MASS
The annual cemetery mass will take place on Saturday, June 3, at 8 p. m. The Saturday Vigil Mass in the church will be transferred to the Cemetery. There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on April 28. Numbers drawn were 6, 22, 29 and 35. Winners of € 25 were Rev. STUDENT THEATRE
Congratulations to Killeenduff National School on being shortlisted in the Bord Gais Student Theatre Awards for Best Short Scene Script – Bingo Scene from their Granny Grudges Play. The group will attend the awards ceremony in Dublin on May 17.

AGRICULTURAL SHOW
The Enniscrone and District Agricultural and Industrial Show will be held on August 26 this year. This year’s show will be held in the Community Centre and surrounding grounds in Castleconnor, due to the unavailability of the Castlefield in Enniscrone. With a newly formed committee in place preparations are now under way to stage a spectacular event.
AA MEETING
Meetings take place in Enniscrone Health Centre on Saturdays at 7 p. m.
MUSIC FESTIVAL
Enniscrone will stage its first Musical Festival on Friday and Saturday, May 25 and 26, and Sunday, May 28, will be a family day from midday to 6 p. m. in the Castlefield Enniscrone. There will be three stages and music will commence at middaymidnight. The festival is being organised by Brid and David McGowan. All will look forward to a wonderful time.
WALKING CLUB
The walk this week is the Sheffrey Hills on May 13. The level is level is hard and the terrain is open Mountain and the length is 4- 5 hours.
Fundraising: While the playing area is now complete, the club needs to raise € 75,000 to bring our indoor astro turf complex to completion ( heating, electrics, toilets, dressing room, kitchen, meeting room etc.). We are currently at € 35,400 and wish to thank all of those who have donated already for their fantastic generosity. Due to a significant amount of club members travelling to New York for next weekend’s Connacht Championship match, the draw for € 500 and € 1,000 has been put back till Sunday, May 14, The club requires the generosity of the community: individuals, families and businesses, both at home and abroad to bring the project to a completion. As previously advertised, you can sponsor a brick at € 100, a block at € 250 or a wall at € 1,500. There are teams in the various areas/ townlands to contact to donate, and there are also be weekly collection points held around the parish to facilitate people who wish to donate. This week on Monday ( April 24) there will be a collection evening in Sheridan’s from 8.30 p. m. to 10 p. m. You can also donate online at enniscronekilglassgaa. com under the Astro Turf Pay.

Our intermediate team got their Division Three campaign back on track thanks to a 4- 9 to 0- 4 defeat of Eastern Harps at Quigabar last Sunday. In very difficult conditions, our lads led 2- 7 to 0- 2 and controlled proceedings well into the wind in the second half to end as winners. They have a break in competitive action for the next two weekends training continues this week. Minor the Enniscrone- Kilglass/ Easkey minor team lost out to Eastern Harps, 4- 15 to 3- 13 last Thursday in Keash. After a very disappointing opening half our lads trailed 4- 11 to 1- 4, but a good comeback in the second half restored respectability and almost clinched a result. They play Ballymote/ Bunninadden this Tuesday evening at 7 p. m. in Easkey.
Our under- 16 boys lost to Calry/ St Joseph’s in Quigabar last Monday evening, 4- 11 to 0- 12 They have a break from competitive action this week.
Our under- 14s play Coolera/ Strandhill in Ransboro next Friday evening at 7 p. m.
Our under- 12s continued their good form in Division Two, picking up a third consecutive win last Tuesday evening thanks to a 0- 21 to 0- 8 defeat of St Farnan’s in Templeboy. The boys will look to make it four wins from four when they play Castleconnor in Quigabar on Tuesday week at 7 p. m.
Connacht SFC – Best of luck to the Sligo senior footballers in their Connacht Championship quarter- final against New York next Sunday. A number of club members are travelling across the Atlantic this week to support the black and white we hope you all enjoy the trip.
