South Sligo Land Auctions – Friday May 19 at 3pm in Cawley’s Hotel, Tubbercurry

-

CO. SLIGO estate agents REA McCarrick & Sons are bringing 4 different farms to auction on the 19th May next. These auctions are eagerly awaited by prospective land purchasers and are generating considerable interest both locally and further afield.

While there are no fortunes to be made on farming, land is still viewed as a good long term investment for a person’s money, and hobby farming is considered a great lifestyle.

Many young adults see investing in a bit of land as an ideal way to educate their children into a desirable rural lifestyle.

At Rhue, Tubbercurry, a bungalow in need of extensive upgrade along with approx. 28 acres is being offered in lots. The bungalow residence was built in the mid 1970’ s, but now needs total renovation and is only 300 metres from the gates of St. Attracta’s Community School. The bungalow will be offered on 1 acre OR can also be offered with 10.5 acres top quality land adjoining. Directly across the road from the residence is 17 acres approx. of farmland, some in need of upgrade. Both land plots have a few hundred yards road frontage to the Rhue Graveyard road, offering site potential subject to standard planning conditions.

At Carrentubber, Tubbercurry, a 9 acre plot of land is being offered in on lot. Located along the Tubbercurry- Sligo road just 200 metres from the local GAA pitches, this is mainly good quality land but in need of some upgrade. Good road frontage and very convenient location.

At Doocastle, Bunninadden, another 9 acre parcel of land comes to auction. Located along a quiet country laneway, there is a derelict cottage and granary set theron. This land parcel could suit any farmer in the area, or could also suit a new entrant into farming.

At Gortersluin, Aclare, a 26 acre hill farm is also coming to Auction. Located off the R294 ( Tubbercurry- Ballina road), approx. 6 miles from Tubbercurry, the land is in need of upgrade but suitable for sheep grazing. In need of fencing also, this land parcel would be ideal for a new entrant to farming at a very affordable cost.

All the above mentioned farms are going to Auction and the agent Roger McCarrick hopes for a full clearance on the day of sale. There are no E. U. Entitlements attached to any of the land parcels, but a purchaser will be able to submit them for Area Aid purposes up to the 30th May.

Further information can be had from the selling agent at 087- 6810848.
