A very successful Ladies Gala Day was held at the Club on Friday 12th May. The weather was ideal for golf and there was very good scoring. Thanks to Barrys Pharmacy for sponsoring the event again this years. Winners of our recent club competitio­ns. On 4/ 5/ 6 May competitio­n sponsored by SuperValu Ballisodar­e the winner was Ross o Reily with a score of 37pts, Second was Kevin mcCarthy. On Sunday competitio­n sponsored by Sligo Freeze Chill the winner was James fallon with a massive score of 43pts, in second was SeanCarrol­l and in third was Patrick Callaghan. Competitio­ns on 11/ 12/ 13 May sponsored by Kelly and MacGowan Solicitors and on 14th may sponsored by Sligo supply, results in next week’s notes. This weekend coming sponsors are on 18/ 19/ 20 May by Mullane Plant hire and is open stableford and on Sunday by Flynn’s Foodstore and is also stableford. Interclub matches. It’s a busy week ahead for the men’s inter club with 3 matches taking place in four days. First up is the Senior over 55s interclub on Wednesday captained by Tony Wasyalocha and the lads are away to Strandhill.

And on Saturday the Jimmy Bruen team captained by Dave Donavan take on Boyle at home followed by the National 4ball inter club team captained by Niall Walsh taking on Strokestow­n in the zone semifinal at home.

Best of luck to Tony, Dave and Niall and can we come out and support the lads where possible.

Junior classes continue on Thursday nights from 6pm with junior convenor Merv Keegan. Classes are for boys and girls ages 8 to 12 and are € 3 per lesson.
