Concerned parents call for support ahead of protest

-

A group of parents from the North West who are concerned about the lack of mental health and respite services for their children are calling for support ahead of their protest outside Markievicz House this Friday at 1130am.

The white line protest at the HSE facility is the latest step in a campaign of action for the group, Our Voice for Their Future.

Spokeswoman Shelly Fletcher says: “We are calling on all families, TD’s, local councillors and the general public to come out in support of our worthy campaign. Even if this issue does not effect you directly, we need your support.”

There are currently up to 350 children on a waiting list for the HSE’s Child and Mental Health Service in the North West, with only 87 of those deemed a ‘ priority case.’

Only priority cases are being considered for treatment at present due to staff shortages.
