Enniscrone event for Thomas Howley
WEST Sligo Sinn Féin has announced details of a commemoration event for Volunteer Thomas Howley.
The Enniscrone, native was shot and captured by the Black and Tans at Bunree in May 1921.
He died several days later from his wounds whilst in custody.
County Sligo Commemoration Chairperson, Cllr. Chris MacManus said that the parade would assemble on the Main Street outside Enniscrone Chapel at 3pm on Sunday, 28th May.
It will then proceed to Thomas Howley’s home place where the main ceremony will take place.
An oration will be delivered by Mayo Senator Rose Conway- Walsh.
