Cashel Gates work waiting on licence

RESIDENTS near ‘ Cashel Gates’ junction at Cashel, Curry have said there was another near miss at the junction with the N17.

That’s according to Cllr Jerry Lundy who asked when the works would start as it was “the most dangerous junction on the N17 between Sligo and Galway.”

He was told that the Council was waiting on CIE to approve a licence to carry out construction on the existing disused railway at Cashel Gates.

Once that’s approved, it will take a number of weeks for the contractor to mobilise.
