ENTERPRISE TOWN

The launch of Manorhamil­ton as a Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town from this June recently took place in the Bee Park Community Centre at a function attended by representa­tives of local business and industry, as well as the chairperso­n of Leitrim Council, councillor Mary Bohan plus councillor­s Felim Gurn and Seán McDermott.

The BOI Enterprise Town initiative promotion will be staged the Bee Park Community Centre on Friday, June 9, from 5 p. m. to 8 p. m. and on Saturday, June 10, from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. The BOI event features a Business, community and Sports Expo, as well as plenty of family friendly activities throughout the weekend.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT TALK

A talk and discussion on the important local topic of ‘ North Leitrim Public Transport’ will take place at a public meeting, hosted by the North Leitrim Community Developmen­t Network, in the Bee Park Community Centre on Tuesday night ( tonight), May 23 at 8 p. m. A representa­tive of Rural Link will deliver the talk on ‘ North Leitrim Public Transport’ at the public meeting to which everyone from the northern part of the county is invited.

CANCER SUPPORT GROUP

The Rossinver Outreach Cancer Support Group that is facilitate­d by the Sligo Cancer Support Group will meet in the Ballagh Centre Rossinver on Tuesday evening, May 30, from 7 p. m. to 9 p. m. For further informatio­n please phone 071 9854030.

GLENFARNE GALA FESTIVAL

New members and new ideas are currently being urgently sought for the annual Glenfarne Gala Festival, which this year takes place over the August Public Holiday weekend. A public meeting will take place regarding the planning of this year’s Glenfarne Gala Festival on Tuesday evening, May 30, at 8 p. m. in the Rainbow Ballroom.

Don’t miss out on your chance to have a free blood pressure check with an Irish Heart Foundation Nurse when the Foundation’s Mobile Health Unit visits the Bee Park Community Centre, Manorhamil­ton on Thursday, June 1, from 10 a. m. in the morning to 4 p. m. in the afternoon.
