Got a priest to talk to his ex
A man charged with harassing his former partner has had his case struck out after giving an undertaking under oath to stay away from her.
52- year- old Frank Chambers of Ashbrook, Castlebaldwin appeared before Judge Kilrane at Tubbercurry District Court last Wednesday charged with harassing Noreen Maye between February 10th 2014 and March 29th 2016 at Summerhill, Mountain Road, Tubbercurry.
His solicitor Mr Gerard McGovern said his client didn’t accept the relationship was over but there had been no contact between both parties for a year.
He said the woman was out jogging and Chambers car passed her but it was prepared to give an undertaking that there would be “absolutely no contact.”
“He didn’t accept it was over. At one stage he got a priest to go and talk to her to see if things could be amended,” he said.
Chambers took the witness stand and swore on oath that he had stayed away and would stay away from Ms Maye.
Judge Kilrane accepted his undertaking and struck out the charge.
