Knife incident in courthouse

A 19 year old has been charged with possession of a Stanley knife at Tubbercurr­y courthouse last Wednesday.

Charlie Ward of Parklands Crescent, Tubbercurr­y appeared in custody before Sligo District Court the next day, May 25th.

Inspector Donal Sweeney said Ward was in the foyer of Teach Laighne in Tubbercurr­y, in which Tubbercurr­y District Court sits, at 12.20pm.

Judge Kilrane agreed to grant Ward bail but said it would cost him ¤ 500 cash.

Under his bail conditions, Ward must reside at 76 Rathbraugh­an, Sligo, sign on daily at Sligo Garda Station, have no contact with the Ward family at the Halting site, Tubbercurr­y, have no Social Media or WhatsApp interactio­ns with them, keep his phone on 24 hours a day to allow Gardaí contact him, surrender his passport, obey a curfew from 10pm- 9am and stay out of Tubbercurr­y.
