Lissadell assault

A man accused of attempting to take possession of a woman’s house has been remanded on continuing bail for service of the Book of Evidence against him.

Brendan Leydon ( 49) of Lissadell, Ballinfull, is accused of entering the home of Ms Catherine Donlan in Lissadell, Grange as a trespasser and attempting to take unlawful possession of the house on April 30th 2016.

He’s also accused of assaulting Sgt Terence McMahon and obstructing him on the same date.

Leydon told Judge Kevin Kilrane he had a solicitor previously but they applied to come off the record so he had no legal representation.

Judge Kilrane said if he couldn’t afford to pay a solicitor he could apply for free legal aid.

He remanded Leydon on continuing bail for another four weeks to June 29th for service of the Book of Evidence.
