COOLANEY/ MULLINABRE­ENA kept their league ambitions alive with this two point win over St Mary’s in Kent Park last Sunday afternoon.

It was a tight tussle throughout, Two points coming down the home stretch bagged the win the South Sligo club were seeking.

The first half flowed with some great scores from both sides, with county stars Kyle Cawley and Stephen Coen a constant treat to the Coolaney/ Mullinabre­ena defence.

The only goal of the game was a move involving Daniel Davey, Kieran Finan and Criostóir Davey who finished to the net with help from the post.

This left the half time score 1- 8 to 0- 8 in favour of Coolaney/ Mullinabre­ena.

The second half followed a similar path to the first with both teams kicking points from play and frees, Most notably Stephen Coen’s five point hall in the second half as well as Daniel Davey, Stephen Connolly and the never- ending attacking raids from wing back of Nathan Mullen resulting in a great team score for the away side. Both sides will be back in action next weekend when Coolaney/ Mullinabre­ena host Eastern Harps, while St Mary’s travel to Drumcliffe.
