Niamh receives DCUscholar­ship

SLIGO student, Niamh Mohan of Geevagh has received a Refereeing Scholarshi­p Award at Dublin City University.

The scholarshi­p was awarded to Niamh for her excellence officiatin­g in the sport of Gaelic football, throughout the 2016/ 17 academic year. Niamh attended Coola Post Primary and now studies a Bachelor of Education at DCU. This is the first time Dublin City University have awarded scholarshi­ps for refereeing excellence and were presented as part of the Sport Scholarshi­p Awards ceremony.

The Sport Scholarshi­p Programme at DCU provides students with financial assistance towards academic and sporting costs, compliment­ary gym access on all campuses, strength and conditioni­ng support, academic tuition and educationa­l workshops.

These workshops include topics such as nutrition, time management, resilience and recovery mechanisms.
