GAA President returning with a visit to south Sligo

THIS Friday will be a special for Ballymote GAA club with a visit from the President of the GAA.

Aogán Ó’Fearghal will be coming to the club and also visiting a number of primary schools.

Club PRO Maria White said everyone is getting ready for the big day. She added: “It is a momentous occasion as it will be the first time a GAA President will visit our club.

“He will visit both primary schools in our area, Ballymote National School and Knockminna National School.

“We look forward to his visit between 1pm and 3pm and we hope to have a great welcome for him in Corran Park.

“He is also due to visit Geevagh earlier in the day at 11am,” Maria added.

This follows the President’s visit in early May to huge crowds in Scarden when he officially opened the Sligo GAA Centre of Excellence on the day.
