Some may have noticed the machine at Clubhouse in Cuilbeg was away for service. A new battery costing € 368.08 has been fitted and it is back again in place. The code to open both machines, based at Community Centre and Community Field Clubhouse, is displayed beside each machine.

CADRA wishes Sooey/ Ballygawle­y Group every success with the proposal to provide AED machines in the area. This will involve fundraisin­g to purchase the machines and provide training to the residents of the area. This is a very important community initiative and we appeal to all to support the effort. CADRA has indicated any assistance or support we can offer is available to the committee.

CADRA TIDY TOWNS

The entry form to the National Tidy Towns competitio­n has been submitted. We appeal to all residents to undertake some extra cleaning around their property. We ask all our regular weekly litter pickers to please assist as usual with a regular weekly pick on your road. All litter picked in clear bags can be left at collection point at Community Centre on Monday night or early Tuesday morning for collection. We will supply bags, gloves, Hi Vis jacket and picker to any new volunteers just contact any committee member. Remember ‘ Be Green Keep Carraroe Clean’ is our campaign slogan. Your assistance is appreciate­d.

DOG FOULING

People walking their dogs on Carraroe roads are requested to remove fouling and not to dump into hedges or park. There is an on the spot fine of € 150 for such offences. Pooper – scoopers are available free from Sligo County Council – Please bring your pet excrement home and bin it.

SUMMER CAMP

This camp will run at Anne Carton’s Crèche, The Hawthorns, Carraroe for the month of July 2017. Lots of fun filled activities such as golf, barbecues, sports, baking, arts and crafts and a different outing each week. FOOTPATH

CADRA has written to each of our elected councillor­s prioritisi­ng the clearing of the existing footpath from the church to Molly Fulton’s as our project for assignment of enhancemen­t money for 2017. The cost is currently being establishe­d by Sligo County Council engineerin­g staff. We look forward to each of the 10 municipal councillor­s making a contributi­on. Please contact your local council representa­tive and request them to make a contributi­on.

The next meeting of Lakeview ICA Guild will be held in Carraroe Community Centre on Tuesday, June 6, at 8 p. m. This is the last meeting before our summer recess and we will have our end of season party on the night. Our Federation president is having the afternoon tea party in Gleann Community Centre on Sunday, June 11, at 3 p. m. All Guilds are asked to support this event by hosting table- further informatio­n from Kay Cunnane 086 3754857.

The Aldi brown bread competitio­n will be held in Carraroe Community Centre on Tuesday, June 6, at 7 p. m., we ask all members to have their bread in before 6.45 for judging. This competitio­n is open to non- members, entry fee is € 20 and the winner goes forward to represent Sligo at the regional finals at An Grianan in August. Cúl Camps 2017: Online registrati­on is now open for St John’s GAA Academy/ Kellogg’s Cúl Camp from July 17 to July 21 at Stenson Park, Cuilbeg, Sligo.
