TOUGHEST MUCKERS

With less than three weeks remaining till Ireland’s Toughest Muckers takes place in Boyle’s Lough Key Forest Park, places are filling fast. You can still register online at irelandsto­ughestmuck­ers. ie.

This strength and endurance challenge will take place on Saturday, June 10, The 10k event will have a number of new features this year. A ‘ Little Muckers’ course is added this year for participan­ts under 16 years of age with all money raised from this section going to a nominated children’s charity.

This is the fifth year for Toughest Muckers to be held in Boyle and early indication­s are that it will be a sell- out event. And remember, your entry gets you free beer, food and entertainm­ent at the finish line.

CURLEW WALKERS

The next meeting of the Curlew Walkers club will be taking place on Sunday, June 11. Meeting on the Crescent, Boyle at 9 a. m. This will be a Climb Graden A/ B at Slieve League. LOUGH KEY EVENT

Midlands Aquathon Series in Boyle will take place in Lough Key on Wednesday, June 14, starting at 7.30 p. m. A swim and run event hosted by Lough Key Triathlon Club, consisting of 750m swim and 5k run – Entry € 10 with TI licence ( 1 Day Licence required if you do not have a TI race licence)

IRISH SUMMER CAMP

Enrolment is now open for an all Irish summer camp which will take place from Monday, June 26, till Friday, June 30, in Boyle. This camp is for first and second year students. It will cover all the skills needed for Junior Cert Irish both oral and written in a fun and creative way.

Enrolment is also open for a Primary school students Irish summer camp which will take place from Monday, July 3, till Friday, July 7, in Boyle.

The aim of these summer camps is to offer students an enjoyable and fun atmosphere where they can learn Irish and have the opportunit­y to speak it in an Active Learning environmen­t lots of drama, games music, art, cooking, dancing and outings. Class starts at 10 a. m. and finishes at 2.30 p. m. each day. Discounts are available for families.
