Teen fined for having a claw hammer

AN 18- year- old youth guilty of having a claw- hammer on his person at Mace on the Mail Coach Road in 2015 has since moved to Tipperary and made a “clean break” with Sligo.

Sait Canbulla, formerly of Tonaphubbl­e House, Sligo, pleaded guilty to having the claw hammer on him on November 11th 2015.

He travelled from Tipperary to be in court last Thursday.

Mr Tom MacSharry, defending, said Canbulla had made a “clean break” with Sligo.

“He wants to get on with his life. He’s in a full time relationsh­ip in Templemore,” said Mr MacSharry.

Judge Kilrane convicted and fined Canbulla ¤ 300. He said it was a “serious conviction” for possessing a claw hammer.
