Young hurlers at their best in schools blitz
THE Galway hurling and game development hosted a primary schools hurling blitz day in Pearse Stadium in Salthill.
The five counties from Connacht were invited to participate in the blitz.
Sligo coaching and games hurling Officer Benny Kenny brought 24 players from 16 different primary schools from around the county.
The young All stars got to test out their hurling skills against some of the best players from each of the four other Connacht counties.
Over the course of the day every player got plenty of hurling and got to play five games.
A trip away at such a young age is fantastic for the development of hurling in Sligo.
The boys will be looking forward to representing Sligo in hurling in the development squads in the coming years.
Great credit has to go to the parents and the schools for allowing this fantastic day to happen.
