O’Donnell delivers at All Irelands
Ireland’s young athlete of the minute Christopher O Donnell ran a superb race at the weekend to win the senior boys 400 Metres at the All Ireland National Schools Championships in Tullamore. Christopher was defending his title and did so with top class running from gun to tape in another excellent time 47.75.
On a day of very changeable weather the 400M final was delayed due to a downpour.
This certainly didn’t help the athletes and probably was the decisive factor in denying O Donnell the National Schools record of 47.66 set by the excellent Brian Gregan.
Nonetheless, this win confirmed Christopher’s excellent form this season.
It will now be back to training for the young Sligo athlete as he prepares for the European Junior Championships in Italy this July.
